Stars of 2024-25 duly recognised

Our 38th season was celebrated in true Chieftain style last night — with the Premier League premiership and individual excellence taking centre stage before a proud crowd of 85 players, supporters, and sponsors.

The club's highest honour, the John Harding Memorial Award for Clubperson of the Year, was awarded to Curtis Hodgetts.

Curtis has been the driving force behind our rapidly growing junior program over the past two seasons as our Junior Development Officer.

Thanks to his tireless work, welcoming nature, and innovation, the program has expanded from one to three teams and created a strong, supportive environment for junior players and their families.

In season 2024–25 alone, Cap No. 457 introduced junior vouchers, formed a junior sub-committee to better connect junior and senior pathways, and continued to mentor the next generation of Chieftains with his trademark humility and passion.

Curtis has worn many hats since joining HCC in 2015 — all with the same selfless drive to make our club better. Whether it’s big-picture strategy or the smallest of tasks, nothing is ever too much. A decade of service, and still going strong.
