Neville takes charge, 25-26 leaders locked

Thank you to everyone who attended last night's Annual General Meeting, which summarised another successful season in 2024-25.

After nine seasons as President, Corey Martin handed the baton over to fellow life member Steve Neville, who became the ninth person to take on the role since 1987.

Cap No.18 debuted in the 1988–89 season and has been heavily involved in running the club ever since — as our statistician, secretary for a combined 11 seasons, former women's coach, men's assistant, junior mentor, and current committee member.

The 2000 Shaka Award winner also played 200 games, took 217 wickets, and is a former captain and Best & Fairest winner.

Joining Steve on the 2025-26 committee are some familiar and new faces.

There are five life members, seven existing players, and one first-time committee member.

Brad Eames joins Paul Degetto as one of two Vice-Presidents in an executive leadership restructure to help better share the workload.

Curtis Hodgetts was elected Secretary, Chris Reissig continues as Treasurer, and Independent Launceston MLC Rosemary Armitage remains our patron.

Thank you to the following people for putting their hands up to lead the club:

President - Steve Neville

Vice President - Paul Degetto

Vice President - Brad Eames

Secretary - Curtis Hodgetts

Treasurer - Chris Reissig

Patron - Rosemary Armitage

General Committee: Matt Green, Joe Holland, Lani Gunn, and Shane Turner.

Thank you to Corey and Mat Gardner for their service to the committee over more than a decade. Both have decided to take a step back from an elected role, but both will remain involved behind the scenes.

Corey will lead our Champions of Sport sub-committee and carry out the duties as the club's statistician, social media, and website manager. Mat will continue to keep the clubrooms and honour boards looking as good as ever.

PRESIDENTIAL STATEMENT

"I am very proud and humbled to be elected President of the Hadspen Cricket Club.

"I have had the pleasure to serve this great club, both on and off the field for the majority of its 38-year history, and I look forward to many more years to come.

"I would like to thank the outgoing committee for their hard work.

"In particular, the outgoing President Corey Martin who has led the club with great passion, commitment, and distinction over the past nine seasons.

"The new committee will continue the hard work into the future.

"We are always looking for additional volunteers and many hands make light work.

"To paraphrase JFK, 'Ask not what your club can do for you, ask what you can do for your club.'

"The Winter Reverse Draw will be held on Saturday, August 2 at Hadspen in conjunction with South Launceston Hockey Club and North Launceston Football Club.

"We look forward to growing our social base by working with both these clubs and enjoying the synergies and mutual benefits these relationships will bring.

"Our annual Champions of Sport will be held at the Country Club Casino on Friday, November 7.

"Plans are progressing for our new outdoor undercover area.

"On-field, we have reappointed premiership-winning coach Tristan Weeks and assistant coach Tyler Dell.

"We are well-placed to defend our premiership and grow the club on-field under these fine leaders.

"We will also continue to consolidate and grow our women's and junior programs."
