Adrian Tudor
Memorial Award

Awarded to Chieftains Best First Year Player

The Adrian Tudor Memorial Award was established in the 2020–21 season as a heartfelt tribute to the memory of Chieftains Cap No.30, Adrian Tudor. This esteemed award is presented to the best first-year player, commemorating Adrian’s contribution to and impact on the club.

Adrian’s roots were deeply entwined with the local community. He grew up in Youngtown, attending Youngtown Primary School and later Kings Meadows High School. His close friendships with John Harding and Rodney Neville further strengthened his strong ties to the area.

In 1989–90, Adrian joined our cricketing family, bringing with him an immense passion for the game. Over four seasons, he played 46 matches, amassing 250 runs with a top score of 72. His bowling was equally impressive—he claimed 50 wickets across 304 overs at an average of 21, with best figures of 4/21.

Adrian’s cricketing journey later led him to explore opportunities with Old Scotch and Westbury. There, he transformed from a leg spinner into a formidable fast-medium bowler. His skills flourished, and he became a respected player, coach, and mentor, playing a key role in securing several premierships. In 2007, Adrian returned to Hadspen, briefly serving as an assistant coach, further strengthening his connection to the club. His warm and amiable nature endeared him to all, making him a popular clubman and a dear friend to many.

Tragically, in 2018, we lost Adrian in a devastating car accident. His passing was felt deeply across the community, as shown by the overwhelming turnout at his funeral, where more than 800 people gathered to pay their respects. Adrian’s character—both on and off the field—left a lasting impression on all who knew him. As a teammate, friend, and devoted family man, he was deeply loved and respected.

Adrian’s memory lives on through the Adrian Tudor Memorial Award, which stands as a testament to his spirit and sportsmanship. He remains forever in our hearts as a cherished husband to Narelle and loving father to Ethan and Taylor. Though we mourn his absence, we celebrate his life and the enduring impact he made on the HCC.

The award named in his honour not only recognises outstanding first-year players but also upholds the values that Adrian exemplified during his time with us. Each recipient of this prestigious accolade becomes part of Adrian’s legacy—carrying forward his love for the game and the profound influence he had on those around him.
