23-34 stars highlighted at awards

Last night we celebrated our 37th season and honoured many Chieftains with well-deserved accolades.

In front of 110 Hadspen Cricket Club players, supporters and sponsors, we announced two ways we plan to honour Cap No.12 forever.

The carpark end of the ground from next season will be known as the John Bailey End and the Premier League Bowling Aggregate Award has been renamed the John Bailey Memorial Award.

All in honour of a TCL Hall of Fame inductee, a Chieftains Icon and Life Member that we sadly lost prematurely last year.

Zola Peters was bestowed the evening's most prestigious honour - the John Harding Memorial Award as Clubperson of the Year.

Zola does a power of work throughout the season, committing many hours to playing, supporting and making sure everyone is well fed.

This doesn't go unnoticed and this award great reward for her dedication, passion and hard work. Thank you, Zola.

Stan Tyson took out the Adrian Tudor Memorial Award as the Best First Year player for his outstanding season in Premier League that yielded 359 runs and 21 wickets. He has bought into the club, driving standards and taking his teammates along for the ride.

Harrison Beard was named our 2023-24 Junior Clubman of the Year, a great young man who is a delight to be around and is willing to take on any task handed to him.

We crowned five best and fairests with Tristan Weeks claiming the Syd Holland Medal, Lani Gunn clinching the Women's accolade, Brad Eames running away with the A-Reserve honour, Dave Smith winning his fourth B-grade B&F and Jason Thomas claimed his fifth C-Grade gong.

And, Ethan Conway took out the Tool of the Year award for too many stupid things to recall.

These are just the highlights, congratulations to all award winners and thank you to all our volunteers, players, supporters and sponsors for anther brilliant season.

We look forward to having you all back and rearing to go for season 2024-25 - Veni, Vidi, Vici.
